Cloud Operations Engineer
We are looking for a Cloud Operations Engineer to manage and maintain IT infrastructure systems and services across private data centres and hybrid cloud environments for a city-based insurance firm.
Candidates should have expertise in Microsoft technologies, Office 365, Azure services, and scripting and automation.
The role requires independent work, collaborative projects, and proactive management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Level 3 escalation for system and service issues.
- Maintenance of IT infrastructure in private data centres and hybrid cloud.
- Collaborate with product owners and technology teams for solution design and implementation.
- Monitor service health and identify process optimization opportunities.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call support rota.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and vendors.
- Promote Agile methodologies and collaboration.
- Agile planning and backlog management using Azure DevOps.
- Support day-to-day operations and work on new technology solutions.
- Direct reports include service analysts and engineers.
- Coordinate with various technology teams.
- Adhere to regulatory conduct rules and maintain up-to-date knowledge on market practices.
- Develop personal competence and understand the company’s risk framework.
Skills:
- Essential: Experience with Microsoft Office 365, Azure, Exchange Online.
- Desirable: Office 365 and Azure certifications.
- Skills in Office 365 platform management, modern device management, cloud VDI solutions, and Microsoft Azure.
- Proficiency in scripting, automation, and Azure DevOps.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
