Cloud Operations Engineer

We are looking for a Cloud Operations Engineer to manage and maintain IT infrastructure systems and services across private data centres and hybrid cloud environments for a city-based insurance firm.

Candidates should have expertise in Microsoft technologies, Office 365, Azure services, and scripting and automation.

The role requires independent work, collaborative projects, and proactive management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Level 3 escalation for system and service issues.
  • Maintenance of IT infrastructure in private data centres and hybrid cloud.
  • Collaborate with product owners and technology teams for solution design and implementation.
  • Monitor service health and identify process optimization opportunities.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call support rota.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and vendors.
  • Promote Agile methodologies and collaboration.
  • Agile planning and backlog management using Azure DevOps.
  • Support day-to-day operations and work on new technology solutions.
  • Direct reports include service analysts and engineers.
  • Coordinate with various technology teams.
  • Adhere to regulatory conduct rules and maintain up-to-date knowledge on market practices.
  • Develop personal competence and understand the company’s risk framework.

Skills:

  • Essential: Experience with Microsoft Office 365, Azure, Exchange Online.
  • Desirable: Office 365 and Azure certifications.
  • Skills in Office 365 platform management, modern device management, cloud VDI solutions, and Microsoft Azure.
  • Proficiency in scripting, automation, and Azure DevOps.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
